Jazz at Lincoln Center Brand Campaign
Jazz at Lincoln Center had a new logo designed by the amazing Paula Scher of Pentagram. A logo alone does not make a brand however, and Jazz at Lincoln Center needed to find it’s own voice; one that could direct various programs and performances.
The musicians hanging around Jazz at Lincoln Center taught us an expression, “killin”. Not commonly used in 2006, it was used to describe when jazz is played at its best. We used this idea, combined with a distinct color palette, language and photographic style to convey the emotional experience of attending a performance at Jazz at Lincoln Center.
This look and feel provided the foundation for the strong JALC brand that is till in use today.
